Delia has taken the strong traditional values of her start-up upholstery businesses and propelled them into the modern era through her online presence. Before commissioning Tigerchick to design her website, her new logo and take photographs, Delia was already well versed in promoting herself through Facebook and keen to take this much further.
What she lacked previously was a strong visual identity and website to make powerful impact. Despite being fresh, bold and modern, the design is intended to be respectful of the traditional origins of Delia's craft and also mindful of her target market.
Delia takes great pride in her upholstery and fabric sales and adds value by giving personal consultations. It was important for this ethos to show in the design of the site. In response, we incorporated a blog-like approach throughout the site allowing Delia's personal recommendations and thoughts to shine. This also gives Delia great freedom to show her upholstery services and fabrics within a structured mix of ideas, inspiration and completed works.
The bespoke shop selling fabrics extends this idea by allowing Delia to present the fabrics and other products as "collections" that have been personally curated by her. This encourages browsing and actually makes products more desirable and easy to find without prior knowledge or intent.
